Originally trained as a graphic designer, after many years in that field I found my real vocation in mosaic art. To achieve that goal, in 1990
I traveled to Ravenna, Italy, where I studied with master mosaicists. While there, I had the opportunity to work on mosaics commissioned by
churches and private individuals.
Below is a sampling of commissioned works I recently completed. Smalti* were almost exclusively used for these
works. I feel they produce the best results because of the intensity of their colors, their durability and versatility. Because each work
presents different challenges and requirements, prices will vary, but I will gladly provide you with a free estimate for any piece.
* Smalti are pieces of opaque glass and are available in hundreds of colors. Byzantine mosaics were made almost exclusively
of this material. |
